A must read book for all Star Wars Fans!

I thought that this was a very well done book! Jude Watson gives a special insight to Obi-Wan's life on Tatooine. When you read the beginning, you can almost feel how Obi-Wan feels about losing everyone he knew and loved. I liked how she brought back some of the characters from the other books. I never would have thought of some of them again if she hadn't. I think that this book would make a lot more sense it you read Jedi Quest and Jedi Apprentice first. Or at least Jedi Quest, that way you know one of the main characters better. Malorum reminds me of Xanatos and Granta Omega, I can't wait to find out who he is!! And I also liked when a certain bounty hunter arives! This is a great book, and you probably will hardly be able to wait to read the next one!

Great start from where Ep III left off!!!!

After I found out so many adults were reading Jude Watson's books (Jedi Apprentice, Jedi Quest series), I didn't feel so bad picking this one up (I'm in my late 20's). What a great book!! It's more of a young adult book to me. From the start you can feel Obi-Wan's loss of losing his Jedi friends, especially the loss of Anakin. But he finds purpose in his life again, with the help of an old friend and the gentle nudging of his former Master. And along the way he finds past feelings (good ones) that he thought he had forgotten. I laughed quite a few times (out loud, in private of course) and towards the end I felt my heart race alittle (no joke!) This is truly a great start for a new series. Don't hesitate....buy this book. You'll love it!

Nice sequel to Revenge of the Sith

Well I expected the books to start pouring out to fill in the gaps between episode III and pisode IV but I didn't expect it to be geared towards young readers. This short, 160 page book tells of what happens to obi-Wan in the immediate aftermath of episode III as the Jedi had been hunted down and all killed..or were they. Meanwhile Obi-Wan has journeyed to Tatooine where he'll stay for many years waiting...and keeping an eye on a certain little boy. Although it is a Scholastic book aimed at younger readers I didn't feel it was written in "too juvenile" a style and I think even older readers will enjoy the story even if it is a little on the short side.

I highly recomend this wonderful book!

This book won me back over to the writtings of Jude Watson. I wasn't really a fan of Jedi Quest (too much bratty Anakin) but had loved Jedi Apprentice. It's wonderful to find out what Obi-Wan actaully does while waiting for Luke to grow up. An excelent idea and a wonderful read! I always picture Old Ben just sitting around his hovel, and headin to Mos Eisley on occasion to sit around the Cantina at a table by himself, listening in on conversations of other customers, while nursing a drink. Nice to see he has a life! While reading this novel, I was actually able to merge to image of Old Ben played by Alec Guinness and obi-wan played by Ewan McGregor!

Action packed adventure!

A great prequel to Jude Watson's Jedi Quest series. This story decribes what happened between Star Wars episode III and IV. Every Star Wars fan should read this book. The people included in this story are Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ferus Olin, Boba Fett and many others. In the story, Obi-Wan is living on Tatooine and hears that former Jedi apprentice Olin survived the killing of Jedi knights by Darth Vader. This book describes Obi-Wan's quest to find Olin before being killed by bounty hunters. Read this book!
