Books Starring Booklovers

Featured Artist

Elan Clement Robinson

I’m Elan, a designer, illustrator, and zine-maker. I love reading, playing Dungeons & Dragons with my friends, birdwatching, and printmaking. Whether it’s in a book or a picture, what draws me to a story are the little details that bring it to life. I think that’s why my favorite things to draw are the small bits that invite closer inspection.

It’s no accident that physical media is having a moment. Books activate all of our senses and connect us to their characters, their authors, and each other—all things we could really use right now. So I hope my drawings add a little bonus joy to the experience of giving and receiving physical books for the holidays this year. Thank you to ThriftBooks for working with artists!

Featured Artist

Liz Clagett

I’m a Seattle-based visual designer with a strong grounding in physical design.

Before heading to graphic design school, I worked for ten years as a carpenter and public art fabricator. Working with local artists to realize their designs in physical space gave me a strong foundation for visualizing and executing on plans with precision.

I’m always looking for ways to center humor and joy, whether in my life, or my designs.
