Oh my gosh. Oh. My. Gosh.

What was this earth shattering, heart wrenching fever dream of a book? Why did it take me so long to read it? Present me is beating up past me for not finding this gem sooner. Im obsessed with the characters, the plot and the ethereal writing. This is one of those true hidden beauties that make you feel like you just entered another reality. The characters have the cutest names (Iris, Kitt, Attie, are you kidding me?) And I can not get over the romance! Ugh! One tiny thing is this book is not an enemies to lovers despite what people say. I would say its more of an acquaintances to lovers romance with a fantasy subplot if im being honest. This is definitely a five star and you have to read it yourself!!!

Needed more depth

The “Rival” part of this title should be changed. The main characters aren’t really rivals and get to a neutral positive state relatively quickly. The magic that was randomly placed in the world disappears after part one and no one seems to have any real curiosity in this world. Everything kind of stumbles along. I finished the book because I was searching for the answer to the mystery, but there weren’t really any. It was not a bad concept, just not greatly portrayed.

Typewriting romance of my dreams~

You guys, you guys…. This book was literally something I could not put down if you shook me vigorously with both hands on my shoulders. If you like fantasy, adventure, with spices of romance you need to get this book stat!!!

Amazing Romantasy

This book is INCREDIBLY well written. I am a big reader and yet this was my first ever fantasy novel. The author does a fantastic job of describing the emotions and experiences of the characters. Although it is fantasy, it is packed full of meaningful truths. I love how descriptive Rebecca Ross is in portraying what each character is thinking, feeling, and going through. On top of all of that, the plot is a page turner, the story itself is interesting, and the events in the novel are far from normal and average. I love Roman and Iris so, so much, and I cannot wait to read the second book!

If you're a fan of well written, purposeful romance that doesn't take away from the plot, I'd highly recommend this.

Just wow

She didn't know, he didn't say, but he knew. Then.... man! Hate , jealousy, turned into.... then boom! Separated and what happens next is just so heart wrenching.
