Like a Smart Little Friend that knows your Woes

Compared to so many of the other editions, this one (14th) seems to have most of the basics down and helps out quite a few people. For those thrust into the world of SPSS especially, this is a template that seems straight from the choirs of e-heaven. The format makes it REALLY easy to use: I've prepped a lot of programs by using manuals before, but most of them don't include pictures of what the screen should look like. Mallery...

This is where the beef is/

This book provides the real deal when working with SPSS 13.0. It is a little intimidating to work with, but so far it has answered many questions.

Excellent reference

As a first time user of SPSS, I was easily able to set up a data file using this reference book. It is very clearly written, easy to understand, and I think much better than the Pallant "SPSS Survival Manual" which I also purchased.
