An excellent introduction and reference for C++

This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to start learning C++ without learning C first. The book starts with a brief background description of programming and introduction to object orientation and takes you through C++ program structure. It then explains the core language very clearly, following this with some excellent chapters on pointers and inheritance. There are also a couple of really good chapters on handling and managing objects in data structures. It's a good primer to learn the language but also a useful reference book. If you want to get into C++ and get programming fast and effectively, pick this book up first and then move onto any of the Wrox "Beginning" books (ATL, MFC etc) to get up to speed with industry tools.
