A reading grandparent

This is a great book for younger kids, or kids just learning to read for themselves. I like everything Ravi Zacharais writes, and as with all his books, this brings the reader to a point of focus on Jesus.

Quality Children's Story

My 12-yr-old daughter loved this story, though it was originally purchased for our 5-yr-old grandson. We may keep it here for us, or for her to share with the grandsons when they visit!

The Broken Promise

What a great way to get your kids reading about God. Just like The Brothers Grimm had moral lessons in their stories. This is a wonderful story that conveys the love and wisdom of God and how to use it in every day life. Ravi Zacharias has done it again.

Personal integrity affects our ability to trust others

Ravi Zacharias' second children book is as good as his first ("The Merchant and the Thief"). In "The Broken Promise," Ravi tells a story about two siblings, Anand and Asha. Anand agrees to give ALL of his marbles to Asha in exchange for ALL of her candy. Asha keeps her side of the promise, but Anand breaks his promise. Anand's dishonesty makes him unable to trust his sister. Herein is the lesson of the book: if we do not give our best to others, then we will doubt that others are giving us their best. In other words, broken promises lead to broken relationships - this is a message our culture needs to hear! Ravi then applies this lesson to our relationship with God: if we are not loving Jesus with all of our heart, then we will tend to doubt the fullness of His love for us. .... "The Broken Promise" is a delightful book for children and families alike. (I am 23 years old myself, and I enjoyed and profited from this book.) Also, the illustrations are superb. I encourage you to get your hands on this book, and share its message with the children in your life. And take the message to heart yourself: be a person who gives your best in your relationship with both Jesus and others.
