This is the Best!!!!!!

It has been a long, long time since I have been truly excited with a good novel. This is Ms. McMillan at her best. This novel is similar in vein to her other works like "Mama" and "Waiting to Exhale" where she writes from the soul but I am claiming that this is her best work yet. It is a wonderful story full of human emotions that will touch everyone and just so down to earth. It is funning, engaging, honest and touching. I love how she allowed the characters to tell the story and let their own emotions seep into the story so that you get a deep feeling of their emotions. This allows the characters and the story to breathe without any sociological and philosophical elements. Each character continues the journey so that you are not lost trying to put things in a chronological time frame. Betty Jean is unapologetic and does the best she can without all the drama. She tries to do everything without asking for help and never complains about her predicament. She accepts Trinetta death knowing that she has done all she could to help her but she avowed to raise her grandchildren in the best way she could. She comes out a winner when you see how wonderful Luther turned out. I got teary eyed when Luther wrote her a letter. The last chapter is so full of emotions that I had to shed tears. The last chapter is like going to a funeral where everything comes to an end. If you want a good book to read that is honest and truthful, you must get this one. You will not be disappointed but delated that humanity still exist in some of us. I am convinced now that Ms McMillan finally got her groove back.

Who asked you is an all time favorite.

I enjoyed everything about this book. It's a book that every reader can relate to something in it. It's a great read.

She out did herself ok once again

Terry McMillan did an amazing job once again. I couldnt put this book down although I felt bad for BJ I came to realize that she was the most satisfied with life and the choices we make. Kim was a hot ticket which surprised me and family comes first. I hope Luther and Ricky take care of their grandmother.
