The Way Home

Rebecca Gentry has quietly loved Jake Tanner since she was a senior in high school. Rebecca would love nothing more than to be Jake's wife and the mother of his children. It is because of this dream that Rebecca is a bit taken aback by Jake's less than romantic proposal for a marriage of convenience. Jake needs help in raising his niece and so comes to Rebecca. Although Rebecca tells Jake she needs to think about his proposal, she has already made her decision Jake Tanner didn't expect to be in the position he finds himself at all. Unsure of how to care for his orphaned niece, he turns to the one constant friend he has; Rebecca Gentry. Jake comes up with a plan and rationally proposes the plan to Rebecca. Jake has no idea how much his life is about to change. Jake and Rebecca have many mistakes, obstacles, and insecurities to work through. Some even threaten to tear them apart before they can actually become a family. I greatly anticipated The Way Home by N. J. Walters for weeks. When it finally released, I clapped my hands in joy and settled in for a nice long read. What I got was a well written, at times heart wrenching and poignant story. N. J. Walters has written about two strong characters and given them life. I could see the stubbornness in Jake's face as well as the emotions in Rebecca's. Combine the two, and I was hooked. The Way Home is a love story about taking chances on love and life. I loved this book and know that as long as N. J. Walters writes, I will continue to read everything she puts out. Each time I read one of Ms. Walters' books, I am reminded of how talented of a writer she truly is. As with every book I have read penned by this author, The Way Home is definitely a keeper!
