breaks out of the "psychotherapy school" box

Arnold Lazarus' writings on psychotherapy are a breath of fresh air. Rather than being tied to a particular theoretical system, he encourages an empirical approach that actually looks at the research literature to see what is effective. Go figure! This book shows multimodal therapy in action, which is easier for many people to understand than the more theoretical writings. Dr. Lazarus was an inspiration to me in my early training as a behavior therapist, and this book was one of the best.
