Book Overview

A witch is a wise woman, a healer. Yet for so long the word witch has had negative connotations. In this book, third generation hereditary witch Lisa Lister explains the history behind witchcraft, why identifying as a healer in past centuries led women to be burned at the stake, and why the witch is reawakening in women across the world today. I’m glad I got this book. I’m glad this book finally made its way into my life.

This book has been trying to get to me for a really long while. When this website/app gave me a surprise free book credit that expired in a week… I was looking for something under seven bucks as fast as I could. This book seemed interesting, it wasn’t till it showed up that I realized it was the same book I’ve been ignoring for years. After reading the first few chapters (yes, it was tricky to get through the beginning) I was hooked. As I finished each chapter things in my life, things in and about me, started to change. I felt my intuition growing stronger once more. I’m back on this page to send my sister a copy, I believe she really needs this in her life as well.

Incredible- changed my life!

I am so grateful for this book and for reclaiming the word witch as part of my identity. Highly recommend Lisa Lister! This book is filled with great info about many aspects of witch craft. Herbs, holidays, history, and oh so much more.

Misogynistic, terfy, trash.

A dumpster fire of misogyny masquerading as a feminist manifesto.

Nope

Even though the author mentions a lot that this book is mainly how she practices and what her craft means to her and that it's meant to inspire not instruct, I found this book extremely odd and weird to read. If you're a male witch, don't read it. If you're trans, don't read it. If you're even slightly unsure of your gender identity, don't read it. I found it very exclusionist and pretentious, and a lot of it made me cringe involuntarily because it felt like I was in the first row of one of those culty self-improvement, mlm sceme presentations. I'm not a person that likes to write negative reviews, so that's how stronly I feel about all of this.
