A Great Spiderman Story

This is a good Spiderman story. It reads like a Crime Novel, which is it's strength. It very nice in showing how the police view Superheros in New York, and the story shows dramatic views of Spiderman and how he helps save Venom's ExWife

A Grrrrreat Book!

I looooved this book! It had all of the great things that I've loved in Spider-Man tales for so many years, but it also had the twist of a police novel mixed in! I always liked it when the city and its citizens were on Spidey's side, and in this book he actually teams up with the NYPD! How great is that?! I also loved how JRN and KRAD show off how truely powerful Venom really is, and how much emotion is inside that villain! You definately have to read this if you haven't already!

Terrific Cop Stuff Enlivens Spidey Novel

I must disagree with one of the previous reviewers; these are novels, not comic books, and they cannot slavishly duplicate the nonstop action of the comics. VENOM'S WRATH is a novel strong in characterization, the New York setting, and the suspense of the storyline; it uses Venom himself economically, but sufficient to its own ends. Had it simply been a series of fight scenes only thinly connected by the barest excuse of a plot (a sin that afflicts some but not all of the previous novels in this line), it would have been tiresome; instead, it happens to be a good police-procedural novel, a good suspense novel, AND a good Spider-Man novel all at the same time.

great book!

I liked this book because it wasn't _just_ a superhero novel. I mean, it _was_ a superhero novel, but it also felt like a police procedural. It was like a really good episode of Hill Street Blues or Homicide, but with Spider-Man and Venom in it. And it still felt like the Spider-Man I've known and loved since the sixties.

Easily my favorite of the Marvel novels

This reads more than anything else like a police novel, although the writers don't skimp on a well-characterized Spidey. DeCandido and Nieto slowly build and unravel the mystery of why the three people have been kidnapped, and in the meantime give us a great cast of cops interacting with Spider-Man.It reminded me a lot of the kind of story I really enjoyed on NYPD Blue, with Spidey thrown in. This was my favorite of the Marvel novels I've read.
