This is one smart book

Stacey Ballis' "Spinster Sisters" are smart, sassy, sophistocated and still sensitive. I liked the dialogue and especially liked the intros to each section - they're full of good and useful advice. You don't have to be a spinster to appreciate the wisdom contained in this book - it will help any woman feel more assertive and in control of her life. It is a fun, quick recommended read!

A great read, and not just for chicks!

The Spinster Sisters is a totally engaging, entertaining, provocative novel that will keep you turning pages right up until the inside of the back cover. Stacey Ballis has created characters who are filled with life and good humor. The central characters, sisters Jodi and Jill, are smart, independent, feisty, and complex. Their aunts, Ruth and Shirley, are equally compelling and interesting, and the men in the lives of these women are no cardboard cutouts. These characters feel like human beings, and like people you'd really like to know. They laugh, cry, make mistakes, and celebrate like you wish everyone would. There are no two-dimensional personalities in Spinster Sisters--no heros without flaws or villians who are unredeemable. (Okay--the ex-husband's new wife isn't anyone you'd want to be stuck on an island with, but, hey, don't we all know a few people like that?) I was completely charmed by The Spinster Sisters, and I enjoyed every page.

I loved this book!!!!

I am a huge fan of Stacey's. I've read all of her books & I think this is the best! The main characters, 2 sisters & 2 aunts come alive on the pages. You feel a part of the family & can't wait to read on to see what happens next. It's fun & serious, all at the same time. I highly recommend this book. Keep 'em coming, Stacey!

She did it again!!!!

I have read all of Stacey's books and I loved all of them. It's hard to choose my favorite book as I loved them all for different reasons. Her writing grabs you and pulls you in. It is hard to put her books down because you want to know what is going to happen next. The Spinster Sisters is no exception! You feel like part of the family right along with Jodi, Jill, Aunt Shirley and Aunt Ruth! I can really relate with Jodi's reasons for dating more than one guy. Her story lines flow well and move at a great pace! When you get close to the end, it leaves you wanting more and you become sad because you've finished the book! This book is a MUST READ!

terrific chick lit tale

THE SPINSTER SISTERS Jodi and Jill Springold take advantage of their single status by creating a money making enterprise from their lack of marital status. They have a radio show Lunch with the Spinster Sisters and two best-selling books that encourage the virtual of the single life. However, their business including a proposed TV show becomes shaky when Jill informs Jodi that she is engaged to Hunter. Though she thinks the world of Hunter and so does her two spinster aunts, Jodi believes "the end of an era" has occurred. She panics not so much because their empire will collapse from within, but if Jill marries, she will be a lonely surviving spinster sister. Suddenly the backdoor Johnnies she dates and her ex-husband Brant look good as possible mates, but that would mean giving up the rewards of spinsterhood, a tough sell to a confirmed bachelorette. The ensemble cast make THE SPINSTER SISTERS into a terrific chick lit tale as readers will enjoy the antics of the precious aunts, the back door beaus, the ex husband, the fiancé, the radio staff, and especially the two title stars. Everyone seems real and unique as Stacey Ballis provides a wonderful deep family drama focusing on a simple natural step that impacts all the players with the changes in the prime relationships.
