The Island Before the Horizon

By F. S. Dias

The same level does not exist for everyone.

On the Island, the cistern shows different water levels depending on who measures it. Reflections move ahead of gestures or fall behind, and ordinary tasks begin to split equally physical versions of the same place. Iris looks for a rule that can return everyone to agreement; the Island answers by multiplying points of view.

The Island Before the Horizon is Book 6 in Iris, an eight-novel contemporary fantasy series about perception, public care, and the cost of collective decisions.
