The Door Cycle
Three people. One impossible hallway. And a system that keeps changing the record.
A closet measures thirty-two inches.
Then thirty-four and a half.
Then the measurement depends on who is holding the tape.
When an ordinary maintenance report is quietly changed from URGENT to ROUTINE, an impossible corridor begins opening behind the walls of an apartment building. The hallway has numbered doors, shifting rooms, missing records, and a terrifying habit of rewriting evidence until the impossible looks administrative.
In You Built This, an unnamed occupant enters the corridor and discovers a place where memory becomes architecture, observation changes what is observed, and even language can become a trap.
In Brick by Brick, landlord Daniel K. is forced to confront a lifetime of complaints reduced to categories, delayed repairs, altered records, and people made invisible by paperwork. Understanding what he did will not absolve him. Repair is continuous.
In You Are Here, eighteen-year-old Zac C. searches for his missing mother, Mo, while confronting the cost of having dismissed her warnings. To find her, he must learn the difference between belief and obedience-and discover that love does not require following someone through every door they open.
Blending psychological horror, supernatural horror, literary fiction, liminal-space dread, and bureaucratic nightmare, The Door Cycle: The Complete Trilogy is a story about testimony, institutional language, grief, responsibility, and what happens when someone reports that the room is wrong-and the system decides the report is the problem.
The door is warm. You are allowed not to open it. You are not allowed to pretend no one knocked.
