The Crossroad

This was a great book well written. I could not put it down I read the whole book in one day. I Love Beverly Lewis books. I had read one and I am hooked I am now in the process of trying to get all of her books to read.

A fitting end indeed

This book is the perfect sequel (and conclusion) to the story of Rachel Yoder and Philip Bradley. It left no end untied, no strings hanging, and basically ended on a very high note. What more can I say? Read it!

Blindness Mended by Love

An amazing read and a real page turner. Philip has to return to New York and the hustle and the bustle. Rachel learning to cope with her blindness and her mother's urging to visit with the local healer and his black box. Philip while home begins to research about Rachel's self-inflicted blindness and how to bring her eyesight back. He returns to Lancaster county for Christmas to see if he can help Rachel regain her sight. And to see if the feelings he has for her are reciprocated. Trying to bridge the gap that has separated them is no easy task but Philip is willing to try anything. Among the people he tries to live but finds it very hard. Rachel's parents aren't much help either. Trying to keep their daughter safe from outsiders they practically shun him. Philip and Rachel are relucent to see where these feelings could lead them and unsure of how their two worlds could mesh together. Neither share with each other what is in their hearts. Until a visit with a friend shows Philip that he need to tell Rachel everything he feels for her.

This is a fun, heart warming book to read.

I have enjoyed this series even more than the Heritage of Lancaster series. Rachel seemed like a real person, a friend that I could sympathize and rejoice with. Hopefully, Beverly Lewis will tell us more of what happens with Rachel now that she has found her way in life again.

Safely read at The Crossroad.

I was very eager to open this book, and it took me a little over a day to read this. I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed The Heritage of Lancaster County and The Postcard. I thought that towards the end Rachel would shut the door on Philip, only to see that somehow God told Philip to go back to where Rachel lives, and then have his whole life changed to the Amish ways. I eagerly await more fictional books on the Amish. I only got started.
