A Good Historical Novel

I had seen this book last year, and even borrowed it, but never got around to reading it. I finally did, and I must say I really enjoyed it! Apparently historical fiction isn't too bad (not actually sold on that but this book was good). The characters definitely came to life, and though there was a romance it wasn't all encompassing or detrimental to the storyline. I feel like so many modern novels revolve around romance, and I personally find that annoying. I want stories. This book gave lots of stories, captured the human spirit well, and I could see the characters in my mind's eye so well- it's one of those books you don't even realize you've fallen encapsulated into until you stop. There's nothing groundbreaking about it, but it's a healing of sorts when it's over. It is good. 8/10 recommend

I loved this book!!

It might be because this is the first time I’ve dipped my toes into historical fiction, (I’m usually more into sci-fi and mystery) but this book grabbed me and kept me emotionally involved the entire way. I was invested in the character’s lives. I will definitely be reading more from this author

I am a huge WW2 novel fan and I have read this book with my entire book club. It's so good, and really keeps you guessing. I love her depth of characters and the plot twists.

This WWII story had me hooked from the beginning. Incredibly detailed and well written, the author made me feel like I was there. Mystery of the life of a spy kept me turning pages

Excellent read. One of my favorites. Strong female characters with an incredible, page turning story line. I feel so inspired by the strength of the characters in this book.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!

Sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking....it's an engrossing tale of two courageous women espionage agents in the Great War. Characters are vividly drawn and details of the period compelling.
