Fun, Hot Romance!

Shelli Stevens has a wonderful, fresh voice, and created a fun, yet emotional read in TEMPTING ADAM. I loved the engaging characters, Adam and Christy, who have THE chemistry we all look for in a romance. Way to go, Shelli! Can't wait to read more!

Tempting Adam

Christy Wallace loved her coffee, and she was thanking her lucky stars when she met her walking fantasy come to life in her favorite coffee shop. She and Adam Young hit it off immediately, but when he asked her out, she had to turn him down because she had a salsa class to teach. When she gave him her business card advertising the class, you could have knocked her over with a feather when he actually showed up to participate in her class. They had an immediate and intense attraction to each other that went beyond anything that could be easily explained. Normally she would have felt uncomfortable inviting someone home that she didn't know well, but she just couldn't pass up the temptation that Adam offered. She was having lunch with her best friend Nate the next time she ran into Adam. More uncomfortably, she was having lunch with her gay best friend, and they were pretending to be a couple to fool his parents. What she didn't realize was that Adam was Nate's brother. She had spent some wonderful quality time with Adam, and now he was seeing her as an unfaithful girlfriend. What must he think of her, and from his perspective, her cheating ways? Christy didn't think things could get any worse, but she should have known better. Rarely do I ever read a sequel that is better than the original, but this story surpassed the first in the series. Christy is a very appealing character, and is like our best friend that we can relate to. Adam, and his entire family are close, but yet have their issues just like all families. He is the type of man we all wish we could meet. They are a great couple surrounded by a funny heartfelt story.

Tempting Adam

Christy is stunned into silence by the hunky man in line with her at her favorite Seattle coffee bar. When he seems to show some interest in her, the Spanish teacher is not sure what to make of it. The cowboy, Adam, is one of the hottest men she has ever seen up close, and he has a fantastic voice to go with it. Add to this the fact he asks her out, and what more can a girl ask for? When she has to turn him down due to a previous commitment, he accepts and shows up at the dance class she is teaching. The attraction between Adam and Christy is palpable to all those around them. They are both finally starting to think about a long-term commitment, and after only one date. But then things take a huge turn for the worse. Christy is doing her best "gay" friend a favor that might jeopardize her future. What will happen when this favor is revealed? Tempting Adam helps to yet again prove that lying will only come back to bite you in the end, no matter how well-intentioned it might be. I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions between Adam and Christy, as well as seeing what Nate would try to work to his advantage next. Additionally, Ms. Stevens did a wonderful job in showing how a woman is likely to react to issues of internal conflicts (bring on the ice cream), though I think I personally might have had to kill Nate. I had to laugh at Christy as every time she thought that things could only get worse if xyz happened, it seemed that xyz would happen. Then again, Ms. Stevens does a good job with Adam keeping things too close to the chest and jumping to conclusions. I thoroughly enjoyed this spicy and erotic tale.
