Enjoyed this.

I always enjoy Camps historical romances. They are a fast easy read to loose myself in for about 8 hours or less. I purchase all my books to re-read every 2 or 3 years. They are fresh again to me. Sometimes I switch to other types of romances to get away from the the English Regency period but I return.

Great Book!!!! Love it!!

This was a true page turner. The book grabs you from page one with Julia's attempt to kidnap Deverell and I truly could not put it down once I had started. Julia and Deverell are two very likeable characters. The sexual tension that they shared was very strong and very believable. Julia is unable to resist Deverell even though she believes (wrongly) that he was the cause of her brother's death. It was also interesting to see the development of the secondary romance. The characters were all very well developed. Some of the dialogue will have you laughing out loud. Overall the book is very well written and if you have never read Ms. Camp's works, you need to give her a try. You will definitely enjoy it.

Great Book!

Okay, first things first...I have a major confession....this was the first historical romance i've ever read. Secondly, this is the first book I've ever read by this author. But everything considered, i had a wonderful time! I liked the story a lot, and plot, twists, and characterizations were remarkable. The story is about a young woman named Julia who is out for revenge...by seduction. Lord Stonehaven is the unlucky fellow who is the target, after blaming an embezzlement on Julia's brother, Selby. If that wasn't bad enough, Selby's suicide makes things worse, and Julia blames the whole death and break up of her family on Stonehaven. She makes good plans for revenge, and is even admirable in all her endeavors, but she forgot something...she didn't take her attraction for him into account. The book is humorous while intriguing, and I just couldn't put it down. The characters were amazing, and it was so good that I read the whole book in one stretch...it was THAT good. Just a small drawback...I didn't find it that far behind in time. Though it was supposed to have taken place in 1811, it somehow seemed modern, and I didn't have a sense of being displaced in time. But overall it was an extremely good read.

enjoyable

I have only read one other book by this author and I enjoyed this one a little more. I got it from a used book store and recommend doing the same.

A good read

In 1811, Deverel Grey, Lord Stonehaven, holds conclusive evidence that Selby Armiger embezzled money from the trust fund that he co-managed with three other aristocrats. Only Selby's spouse Phoebe and his sister Julia feel their beloved was innocent. Adding to the Ton's ostracizing Selby and his family is the belief that he killed himself rather than face the disgrace of his crime. Only Julia feels Selby died from a hunting accident.Julia blames everything on Deverel, whom she believes cleverly absconded with the funds. Her efforts to abduct the man to force a confession from him fail. Julia turns to Plan B, seducing Deverel. However, her plan backfires when she falls in love with her enemy. Deverel reciprocates her feelings. Still, Julia feels she is disgracing the memory of her beloved by wanting to be held by the person that she strongly feels "murdered" Selby.SWEPT AWAY is an exciting Regency romantic suspense that proves there is much life left in the sub-genre. The story line is fast-paced, filled with action, and loaded with an interesting who-done-it. Deverel is a wonderful hero, but Julia,s personal dilemma between love and her obsession steals the show. Readers will want Candace camp to scribe a sequel, starring an adult version of the little boy whose trust fund was being managed.Harriet Klausner
