Immersive and unpredictable

Not great, but I had a good time :)

This book is not particularly well-written. The characters are pretty generic YA dystopian, it’s unrealistic in many ways, and I don’t really get who Juliette is. That being said, the vibe of the book is right up my alley. The freeform and intrusive thoughts and weird metaphors and all that stuff is super fun and vibey to me, and I really love reading about crazy girls.

Love

I love Mafi's style. The intentional annotations are perfect for what goes through Juliette's mind. This series lives up to the hype and exceeds expectations. Aaron is unhinged but entirely too lovable. Kenji is witty and a great wingman. Adam is sweet. Juliette is powerful, charming, naive, and unloved. The world building is strong with this book, as well as character building. Later on we see arcs, redemption, love and loss, and acceptance. This is a slowburn enemies to lovers, revolution, found family series. I love this series and how you will buy it. I guarantee that it will not disappoint.

Beautiful and Amazing

Tahereh Mafi is now one of my favorite authors because of this series. I love her writing style and the plot of the book itself is very captivating. It's a fast-paced read with beautiful and vivid imagery. I loved the third in this series the best honestly, but this was a great way to start the series off

I really recommend this series for anyone who enjoys dystopian books like the Hunger Games,Divergent or the Red Queen. Shatter me is beautifully written with elaborate plots and characters.

unique, relatable, and captivating

shatter me is unique yet has the same feel as all the other dystopian novels of the genre's prime time. you can truly understand the character's pain with the absolutely beautifully accurate writing. the crossed out phrases are a perfect addition, helping you understand juliette's character development throughout the book. the romance does feel a bit rushed, but you can't really be picky with that when reading YA. overall, definitely recommend. omw to buy the novellas and other novels in the series rn.

Absolutely Incredible!

I loved this book so much! I kept hearing about this series on TikTok, so I bought a boxed set to see what it’s like. I read this book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down! I loved many things about this book- but one of the things I adored the most was the author’s writing style- it was so descriptive and beautiful! She is a really talented writer! Another thing I really like about this book was the main character, Juliette, her growth throughout the story is physically demonstrated on the page. At the beginning, she crosses out a lot of words and lines on the page. The author says at the beginning that these crossed out parts are intentional. As the story progresses, Juliette crosses out less of her story. She becomes more confident in her narrative. When she is more uncertain, the lines return on the page. I loved the way that her character development was portrayed in this way. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the series! I gave it a 10/10! I highly recommend reading this book if you love strong female protagonists, dystopians, and beautiful writing :)

Amazing!

If you liked The Selection series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, or The Red Queen series, this series is totally for you. This book and the entire series is absolutely amazing. I love how the writing style changes with the charater as she grows as a person. The story moves fast, but not so much that it lost me. There are constantly twists and turns and you never know what's going to happen next. The rest of the series is even more amazing, so if you liked this first one, I highly recommend the other books.

I thought this book was going to be cheesy and dumb, but honestly could not stop reading it. Also, did not know it was a series, so excited to order the next books! Overall quality was very good!

I didn't expect to love this book as much as I do! The story moves in a pretty fast pace but that means it doesn't hit a stall like some books do. I couldn't put it down and even read it again after I finished it. I already have the next books ordered and I'm dying to see where the story goes next!
