Loved it perfect conditiom

Loved the art work super lovely

A delightful trip in Pokemon

Pokemon Adventures Volume 1 is essentially a release of a similar named manga from a few years ago. I do not know many of the details from that one for I was intrigued by this release and cover and saw that it was "new". Essentially Pokemon Adventures follows the storyline of the video games, probably Pokemon Yellow version the most and expands upon it. The manga does not follow the exploits of Ash Ketchum nor even mention his name at all. Professor Oaks grandson, Gary, ie, Blue in this one, is still here but once again they dont reference Gary from the show either. Team Rocket is present however it also does not have Jesse, James, or Meowth. So ultimately, this manga takes place in the video game world and takes some elements from the anime, but does not directly reference them. Volume follows Red, the main character, as he goes to do what Professor Oak told him to do in order to become a pokemon master. Because Professor Oak is too old, he gave Red and Blue a Pokedex and entrusted them with travelling around the world to gain data on every Pokemon imaginable. He also told Red that in order for him to become a pokemon master he must fill up this device. Red starts the journey with a Poliwhirl, but ends up catching more and more pokemon. The story is quite faced paced and up the ante on the seriousness of Pokemon. Team Rocket seems more evil than they were in any recent showing with their use of wanting to kill anyone who stands in their way and carrying out experiments on pokemon or tricking townspeople. Red and Blue often run into Team Rocket at the same time as they keep having run-ins with them and their search for the mysterious pokemon. All in all this is a fantastic fast paced story that is based in the Pokemon universe and is sure to please any Pokemon fan adequately. Art is done very well clear and easy to read words and panels. The modern English sounding translation is crystal clear. And finally, the manga is read in the traditional format. Bonuses in the back of the manga include a summary of Red's adventures, a Pokedex of key Pokemon he used, and a preview for Volume 2.

Pokemon Adventures

This type of pokemon manga is my favorite because it's fun, it's clean, and it is enjoyable. Especially if you have played the original pokemon gameboy games, then you will get the most out of it.

GREAT!!!

This is the first one that I have read. It's really, really great. Instead of the usual Ash, Gary, Misty and Brock from the anime this book gives a whole new twist. The the hero being Red and his rival being Blue. In my opinion it's a whole lot than the anime. This manga is more non-childish and give the Pokemon world a whole new twist. Instead of like the anime where Ash gets a Pikachu, Red starts with a Poliwag which is actually a Poliwhirl. Red is more mature and so is Blue. The rivalry is actually intense. Blue actually has something to prove and his ego isn't that bad. The artwork is pretty good and so is the storyline. Instead of the slow moving pace in the anime, this book has a more quickened pace making you want more. All and all this is great. I would recommand everyone to buy it.

These are brilliantly done

Pokemon Adventures is probably the best vision of the concept that's sponsored by Nintendo. For the record, I recommend buying these in the graphic novel format.This is a great series. It's a more mature story that isn't exclusively aimed at kids like the cartoon or the other comic. There are elements in these stories that will appeal to all ages. Red and Blue, instead of being a couple of abrasive children, are more like rivals should be -- with a healthy respect for one another. They work together, even help each other along at times when they know there's more at stake than their own pride.The story takes some turns that are far darker than anything the show would ever touch, and most of the characters from the show who appear here are, such as the Gym Leaders, are, instead of silly characitures of how people behave, real characters with a passion for what they do. Misty and Brock, incidentally, kick ass. Both Red and Blue are serious about what they do, and there's a clear reason that they win as many fights as they do, not just the "Ash is the main character, so of course he wins" mentality the show has.Even better, as the series progresses, there is real character growth. Over the course of the story, Red goes from being a Pokemon lover with a heart of gold to a brilliant tactician who can use his Pokemon's abilities in ways nobody can imagine.I recommend this for anyone with a passion for good storytelling, anyone who has played the game, and anybody who thinks the Pokemon concept is interesting, regardless of whether you like the cartoon. This is the best handling of the material you will find.

another pokemon story

There are many books and comix around the world about pokemon, so now there is another one! I would like to recomend this book to one that likes novel type stories (which each episode gets connected to another as the story goes on) and also people who are interested in reading another pokemon comix. I really would like to recomend this because it is also one of the popular pokemon comix series in Japan in a wide age range. I hope you will enjoy this comix and become a more pokemon lover! ( Also, don't forget to try the the other volumes too!)
