Old Ephraim, the Grizzly

This story is TRUE. It is about a grizzley bear that roamed the cache county, Utah area living off livestock. For years the bear outsmarted the residents & ranchers and dragging off live stock. Every summer-fall everyone went into the woods to hunt that particupar bear. But he was a wise old bear. Having been trapped before & losing a few toes. He was able to outsmart the ranchers who tried to hunt him down. Finally, someone does find him. Or shall we say the bear find the man. The horse gets spooked, the beat lunges & the man shoots. The bear ( huge bear) fall directly on the man and he is trapped for hours under the bear. The body is so huge it can not be hauled out so he is burned there. His head is in the Smithsonion Museum & there is a marker in Logan, Utah canyon that tells his story. The boy scouts erected the marker. The bear was a h-u-g-e grizzley. If you like bear stories and the culture of bear's thinking, it's a great book. I always read the story to my school classes. They loved it. You can buy the book in Logan, Utah and from Utah State University Book store for less than this offer.
