A Captured Hawk

Very romantic

One of the most romantic books I've read. Hawk is everything you'd want the hero to be, except that his proposition is lacking in the marriage department. Nevertheless he makes it very obvious from the start that he wants a commitment but doesn't believe in marriage, something he views merely as a legality, not necessarily more binding. Joanne, a virgin is independent, highly intelligent and successful. They sizzle. Great story.

When Hawk Mallen took over the company Joanne Crawford worked for as production assistant, she was incensed. When her resentment dies, she knows working with Hawk will be difficult to impossible. He wants a physical relationship, but doesn't believe in love, while Joanne has no intentions of giving herself to any man except in love.Well developed and reasoned out, this tale of two wounded individuals who learn to love is an absorbing read.

The actress I have in mind as Joanne is Bridget Fonda. What I liked about Joanne was that she was a strong and independent woman, yet vulnerable and very innocent. She was a virgin. What I didn't like about Joanne was that she was not willing to take risks. She was a loner because of her past. My favorite scene with Joanne was when she was threatened and Hawk saved her and admitted his love for her. This begins on page 177.
