Another prison memoir

I always start prison memoirs with a jaundiced eye. They had to do something wrong to get in there, right? So, unless there is something startlingly different about their experiences, I find it to be redundant. They are all, allegedly, in there by mistake and then we hear about the less that hospitable treatment they receive. It's a prison, it's supposed to be awful. Sorry, this just read like another "shouldn't be in here - it's not very nice" memoir.

I'm a survivor a.k.a A star is born

I recieved a friend invite a few days ago from then young man. After hearing about this book I decided to give it a chance.I am very glad I did.I really enjoyed Reginald Hall's Freshman novel.I am also looking forward to reading much more from him in the future.I found Memoir very informative into the young gay male's world. And I can see how he has become such a role model to his peer's.While I have read other book's on this topic this book for me dug deeper into what was really going on in the mind of the main character.I feel in love with Reg (as he was often called by peer's while incarcerated ) particular style of writing.Reginald Hall is a shining star the way he described some things I felt as if Donald Goines had passed down his pen and blessed young Reg.Kudo's to you Reg keep them coming and you will have a fan for life.

Very Good Writting For his First!

This Book was very well written ,Reginald Hall takes the reader inside behind prison walls to experience life as he lived it, I really enjoyed this book, my only issue is that The author did not expose how Violent and brutal life behind bars really is, but I guess it was his personal experience that he wrote about, other han that it was a Very Good Book & I recommend it!Im half way thru his other book Smoking Ciggarets and so far it too is very Good!

MEMOIRS?

i brought memoirs two days after i heard reginald hall on power 99 in philadelphia. I wanted to know first hand what actually goes down in jail..a few people i know that have done time just come out and say "oh it was cool" or they don't say anything. i know for a fact that if someone was locked down for a nice minute they probaly have did some freaky stuff in jail. i know of dudes that came home with aids..the book was amusing but he could have went a lil' deeper into actual events that happened. i would recommend it though

An Emotional Rollercoaster

This book is a rollercoaster for a laughs and cries. I recommend this book to women and men.
