Ms. Heidi Betts has written a comical, fast-paced book about what can happen when exes get back together--for any reason. These two main characters were definitely meant to be together but for reasons you will understand when you read the book, they were divorced. This book gave much insight into the lives and thought processes of a couple whose marriage failed. They were vibrant, believable people who I had to love. I wanted them to work things out throughout all the twists and turns of the book. The secondary characters, including the important Aunt Charlotte, made the story the hit it was. Betts' style of writing, while amusing, also was poignant. It was the type book I didn't want to put down. I recommend this book which, like most of hers, gives her readers the necessary HEA but doesn't take everything seriously. - Brenda Talley

Loves Me, Loves Me Knot

Jenna Langan has been putting her life back together since her divorce from Gage and thinks she is on the right path. One of the things helping is her best friends and part of her weekly knitting group. However two of her friends are also in relationships with friends of her ex. That can be both good and bad, one night during a girls night together with the help of a few drinks, Jenna and her friends come up with a plan to get her pregnant from the only man she wants to have kids with - her ex Gage. Gage Marshall knows that he was the reason that his marriage to Jenna broke up. Life after Jenna hasn't had that much excitement but Gage still believes that his job, as an undercover vice cop, is too dangerous for him to have kids. The night the Jenna calls out of the blue to ask for help with a plumbing problem out at her aunt's place, Gage thinks its weird but agrees to come over and see what he can do. A planned seduction designed over drinks is doomed for failure or is it? Gage falls under Jenna's seduction but when the morning light shines, he discovers what was truly behind this night of heavenly sex. Jenna still wanted her child and she still wanted Gage to father it. Now she thinks he will just let her go on her merry way, possibly pregnant by him? Jenna has an awakening coming. Gage's reasons are still there, but Jenna just might be working her way through them. There is also the minor fact that just as Jenna and Gage seem to be finding their way again, their friends are falling apart. Can Jenna and Gage find a way to get back on track of their happily ever after and just what does a skein of yarn have to do with it? A girl's night together leads to the seduction of a lifetime. Loves Me, Loves Me Knot brings together a couple that never should have spilt in the first place. Or that is what fate and one mischievous aunt believes. Jenna had her entire world fall apart when Gage suddenly changed his ideas on a family. Gage still believes that having a family with anyone would be a bad idea, but he didn't really intend for him and Jenna to divorce over it. I laughed many times while following Jenna's madcap seduction of Gage and then her follow through to bring them back together again. Even though there were a few times I wasn't sure if her plan would actually work, I had to give her credit for trying. I did understand Gage's change of heart and the reasons behind it, but I did have to give Jenna my backing in this one. I do think that I will be very suspicious if any family members offer me yarn that was handmade though. Loves Me, Loves Me Knot is a fun love story that shows all great romances deserve its forever. Wonderful reconciliation story--a new favorite!

I really enjoyed Tangled Up in Love, and was expecting another fun, steamy story, but I was delighted when I got so much more in Loves Me, Loves Me Knot. Jenna and Gage's story was so heartwrenching that I truly felt for these two people who loved each other so much that even after they split up, they felt like a part of them was always missing. Gage's protective instincts toward his wife (cause for their divorce due to the ugliness he sees as a cop) had such a devotion at their core that you really felt for him. (Heck--*I* felt cherished just reading how he felt!) And Jenna's desire to both be a full part of Gage's life, as well as start a family (even in this ugly world, as Gage sees it) painted a picture of a woman who was strong, nurturing, and had faith that their love, and not the ugliness of the world outside, could create a home filled with love and laughter. The deep emotion of Jenna and Gage working through their problems was delightfully balanced by the continued appearance of Dylan, Ronnie, Grace and Zach, the alpacas, and knitting that I wish my grandmother would have taught me! Overall, this was an extremely satisfying read and was immediately placed on my keeper shelf. I can't wait until February when this great trilogy concludes!

I laughed, I cried, I loved it.

It's a rare book that can make you laugh out loud and make you shed some tears, but I did both reading Knot. I've always been a fan of books where a divorced couple comes back together, and this is one of the best I've read. Jenna and Gage were a happily married couple until Gage pulled the rug out from under Jenna and announced he didn't want children. Their marriage deteriorated from their and when the book opens they've been divorced for nearly two years (although neither of them have moved on). During a slightly drunken night with friends, Jenna hatches a plan to get the baby that she wants, that she, somewhat justifiably feels her ex-husband owese her. Some reviewers have had a problem with this element of the story, but I felt that Jenna's motives were explained so well, her heartbreak at losing the life she'd always dreamed of so real, that I was able to just go with it. To me, the best moments were when Jenna and Gage were really forced to look at their marriage, to be honest with each other and do what they should have done all along: communicate. It's not easy to write a book about a divorced couple and have them both come across as justified. They both had reasons, and it was easy to understand what led both of them to the decision to separate, but just as easy to see why they really, really, really ought to be together instead of apart. And isn't that what makes a great romance? Knowing that the hero and heroine need their happily ever after to be with each other and no one else. And that was certainly true of this book.

Smart, sexy, heartwarming, and downright funny

Courtesy of CK2S Kwips and Kritiques Jenna Langan always thought Gage Marshall was the perfect mate. Until the marriage fell apart when the pressures of his career as a vice cop got in the way. They may be divorced now but Jenna is feeling the itch to have a little one and the only sperm donor she is interested in is Gage. After a few too many margaritas with her best girls Ronnie and Grace, they hatch the perfect plan to give Jenna the opportunity she needs. After all, those fancy boas Jenna loves to knit and wear have more than one use... they make the perfect restraints for a night of passion. Gage allowed their marriage to fray for his own deep seated reasons that he could never reveal to Jenna. The last thing he wanted was a baby and there was nothing Jenna wanted more. Now he's tied up in knots. He isn't about to leave Jenna's side until he knows for sure if she's pregnant or not. However the more time they spend together, the more they both remember how things used to be. Soon they both begin to wonder Loves Me, Loves Me Knot? Heidi Betts has written another winner with Loves Me, Loves Me Knot. Smart, sexy, heartwarming, and downright funny, readers are going to love Jenna and Gage's story. As soon as Jenna and her friends start scheming, we know we are in for a wild ride. Jenna and Gage seemed so happy together... until their marriage fell apart. Yet the love they feel for one another has not faded even the slightest bit, as much as they both wish they could get over one another and just move on. But of course, the patterns in life don't always go as planned and seeing these two reluctant lovebirds overcome the huge obstacles and knots in their way provides for a thoroughly engrossing love story. Of course, it sure doesn't hurt that Jenna's Aunt Charlotte has woven a little extra magic into things with help from her magical spinning wheel. Of course, any story where the heroine ties the hero to her bed is bound to be a sexy one and Loves Me, Loves Me Knot fits the bill. Jenna and Gage's mutual attraction is still enough to light up the night as if it were the Fourth of July. Sparks are flying high between these two and Jenna's desire to have Gage's baby, and his just as strong desire not to have one, provides the catalyst to get these two back in each other's life, however briefly they think that may be. With the passion these two share, we just know it is all going to work out for them... in and out of the bedroom. Gage has his reasons for changing his mind about wanting children, which caused the first cracks in their marriage. He sees some pretty horrible stuff in his vice cop life and this has a huge impact on him. Seeing his progression from fear at bringing a baby into such a horrible world to understanding why it is so important to have children as raise them right is an emotion-wringing part of the story. Fear not though, Heidi prevents the gloom of a vice cop's world from overtaking the story by lightening it up with perfe
