Janus, The Usurper

By Kerry Stinnet

Janus, The Usurper is the thirteenth installment in the Espa Chronicle, an epic fantasy saga, and the second book of The Gold Saga. Picking up over two years after the dramatic events of Valhelm, The Dragon, the story finds Janus firmly entrenched as the emperor of Raakonia. The highly anticipated Great Cup looms on the horizon, timed with the expected birth of his second child by Angelica, likely a son. Meanwhile, Cyrus, the reigning champion, is positioned to defend his title once more.

As Janus consolidates his power, he focuses on bending Angelica to his will, a task fraught with tension and manipulation between the couple. Elise Aragon continues to seek a way to strike back against the emperor's rule. House Grimm, weakened by internal strife and external threats, faces escalating challenges, while Crixul's shadowy influence looms ever larger behind the throne.

Blending high-stakes political intrigue, ruthless betrayal, and the brutal machinations of those who wield power, Janus, The Usurper delves into the dangerous game of ambition, deceit, and survival in the cutthroat world of Raakonia's rulers.
