It doesn't matter if you believe or not in paranormal things. It doesn't matter if you don't read paranormal books because they're spooky. Albeit this book has all of that and yes, you'll be spooked two or three times, it's worth to read the book because the plot won't let you put it down. The spooky part is almost nothing and you can enjoy an excellent reading even if you don't like that. And I have to tell you that the end of the book is really creepy but not spooky.

Very impressive and a must read for fans.

I absolutely love Kay Hooper's psychic series and couldn't put this book down. I'm sure the other drivers were getting tired of beeping at me when the light turned green. Anyway, I want to say that the beginning was quite powerful and very chilling. It hooked me right away despite the imagined terror I was feeling. From there, the surprises kept me guessing and mentally biting my nails. The question, "Who's next?" was a constant in my mind and Hooper didn't shy away from using the supporting characters. I don't want to give it away, so I'll just say that the first "real" kidnapped victim came as a complete shock. The next one even more so. Again, a well plotted book with lots of suspense and thrills. In keeping with her "Bishop" series, it had a well thought out plot, characters, and background. Everything came together quite satisfactory and my heartbeat never slowed for long. If you're into thrillers with a twist of the paranormal and romance, this book has it all.

Thrilling and Frightening

The entire FEAR series is incredible. Whenever I finish one, I realize how easy it is for anyone to become a victim. The paranormal aspects of the book allow Hooper to describe the crimes and the villains much more intimately than a more traditional thriller might. Though there aren't explicit love scenes in these novels, Hooper never forgets her roots in romance, and gives us a relationship. But you won't find yourself missing descriptions of sex as you are enthralled by the incredible story Hooper presents.

Another thriller of paranormal talent!

Once I started I didn't want to put it down. Another story in Noah Bishop's team of extrodinary FBI Agents. This book shows both views on the perception of Psychic abilities. From the Carnival Fortune Teller to the FBI who backs up their abilities with tests and science and certification levels. This story was thrilling and not your average mystery. Throw Psychics into any story and they are the only ones who may guess the ending.

exciting romantic thriller

In the past eighteen months, he has kidnapped a dozen victims during a twenty-four hour period, holds them for ransom and when the money is paid, he kills them anyway. The victims have a clock showing how long they have to live. This serial kidnapper and killer leaves no clues and it is only recently that the authorities have detected his pattern. The circus comes to Golden, South Carolina with one of the attractions being clairvoyant and precognitive fortuneteller Samantha Burke. When her prediction about the kidnapping and death of one of its victims comes true, the sheriff suspects her. Lucas Jordan, a psychic on Noah Bishop's FBI Special Crime Unit, knows that Sam can tell the future because they were once romantically involved. Together they must find the killer before Samantha's vision of the future comes true. Lucas is the only one who can find him due to his special psychic ability but he doesn't know that the killer has specifically picked him for the ultimate cat-and-mouse game. A unit of psychics in the FBI is made plausible by Kay Hooper's original and unique storytelling abilities. The romance between the two protagonists is also original because she nags and he closes himself off from her, which makes for some very refreshing scenes. The mystery is well thought out and realistic because unfortunately the killer sometimes wins in this macabre game he created. .Kay Hooper once again delivers an exciting romantic thriller.
