Loved this book so much I bought it twice!

My husband is a dieter/exerciser. He goes on diet/exercise binges for about 6 months at a time and then stops for about an equal time. This is a great cookbook for people who love to eat. If followed (and he has twice) you will absolutely never be hungy. I think her mantra is EAT, EAT, EAT!! The food is easy (there are some recipes you will remember and use forever) and tasty. It is based largely on the old food pyramid with emphasis on portion size (huge for fruit and veggies). And here is the kicker, it works! We "lent" out the book and when he was ready to be go back to the gym, he required I find this book...it's that good.

Good low-fat eating plan for those who work out

JV's low fat diet plan. Good info, TONS of meal suggestions and plans. I like the fact that she lists right for you 30 snack meals, 30 lunch suggestions, 30 breakfast, and 30 dinner suggestions.Been reading a lot of nutrition books lately, hubby started Atkins last year, so I've read many of the low carb and low fat books over the past few months. I think that for myself, low fat is the optimum eating plan. I work out 4-6 times a week, and I find that low carb diets don't provide me with enough energy to maintain my active lifestyle.

This book has done more for me than any crazy diet. I've learned to eat right, lost pounds, inches, and lowered my cholesterol. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes healthy food and just doesn't know how to group it or prepair it.

A genuinely useful book

I have been thrugh my fair share of diets, lost weight and gained it again. "Eat to Trim" showed me how to change my attitude to food. I've lost weight and am keeping it off, and feel a great deal better. Her recipes showed me that low-fat food is NOT boring. The weight-exercises are easy, and can be done indoors with a minimum of equipment, thus encouraging me to keep them up.Although there's nothing earth-shatteringly new in this book, the material makes perfect sense, and is easy to follow. It is not necessarily as motivational as some other diet books / tapes I have used, but, because it is more practical, it is of considerably more value.

This is the best diet book I've read yet!

I can never seem to stay motivated to continue dieting or exercising. However, this book has helped me to not only learn how to correctly diet and exercise, but how to change my whole attitude towards myself, therefore encourging me to stay with it. Now, I feel better about myself. The recipes and suggestions make it so easy to follow, that there's no reason NOT to diet!
