In this new 'Dad's Army' story, the town of Walmington-on-Sea is recovering from a German bombing raid. The local orphanage has been hit, leaving three boys and a girl without a home. Captain Mainwaring and the Home Guard come to their rescue and compassionately take the children under their care. While en route to a battle school in Sheringham, Norfolk, they are attacked again, and the train is derailed. The group have no alternative but to seek refuge in a farmhouse, where Captain Mainwaring, his men, and the children must band together to face the challenges brought on by the war.
