I know I'm a little behind (this series started in 1999!), but several people that love Linda Howard, like I do, have highly recommended Ms. Brand's SAS series. Cullen's Bride is the beginning. I loved it! This is a book that I couldn't put down. It was interesting, had some suspense, and featured a "to die for" hero. Cullen Logan has known little about family or love. Abandoned by his mother and raised by an abusive alcoholic father......he's got issues. He believes that he has "his father" in him and vows to never harm a female or a child the ways his father did. He vows to never get involved, never marry, and certainly never have a child. Rachel Sinclair has also known isolation. After her mother dies in childbirth and her father distances from her to deal with the pain...she's got some issues. She is newly divorced from her cheating husband when fate brings Cullen into her life. I won't ruin this book by telling lots of details, but I will say that Cullen doesn't come around quickly. He fights his feelings for Rachel...and then fights some more and some more. She never gives up, and is turning his life, and home, upside down while he fights his feelings...a loosing battle:) The conclusion is so special. Cullen, more than many hero's I've read, deserved this happily ever after.

Pregnant with his child...When Rachel Sinclair met former agen Cullen Logan, she was all too aware of his dark past. Soon, though, she was falling in love with him, reputation or no reputation. But Cullen wasn't so easy to convince, even once she announced she was pregnant--with his child....Daddy with a PastCullen knew that being with him was probably the most dangerous choice Rachel could make. He also knew that the only honorable thing to do was marry her. But being around Rachel made Cullen all too aware that the only thing more dangerous than his past was the danger she posed to his heart.

I loved this book. I started reading it before work and got so involved I had to keep sneaking a read at work. I loved Rachel, she is so feisty and stubborn. I love how she stands up to her brothers and Cullen. Cullen is a man to die for, so passionate. This book sizzles!!! I hope Fiona Brand writes a book about Cole Sinclair, Rachel's brother. Great potential
What can a person say but ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!

Fiona Brand is a true craftsperson with the way she captures the emotions of her characters so strongly you can almost breathe them, and creates a deep empathy for Cullen and Rachel as they are drawn together. I really enjoyed Cullen's Bride, and found myself loving the secondary characters almost as much as Cullen and Rachel. This one is definitely a keeper. As an avid Linda Howard reader I think others like me will also really enjoy Fiona's style and I am looking forward to her next book.
Passionate love story with a hero you can only dream about!

I'm always unsure of new authors but decided to give this author a try and I am glad I did. I started reading the book at 10:00 p.m. and didn't go to sleep until 1:00 a.m. I was tired the next day but it was definitely worth it. The hero, Cullen, is one of my favorites. He has a deep passion for Rachel and fights it because he doesn't feel he is good enough for her. Why? His violent family history is the main reason. But he proves to be a hero that any woman would fight for. Read the story and discover that Cullen is a MAN!
