A Really Good Book

This was a very good book, but not as good as the other Thoroughbred books I have read. This book was a good chance to get to know the character of Cindy McLean because she hasn't been mentioned much in the series. With the Kentucky Derby coming up Cindy is pressured to get a jockey. Christina and Melanie both are riding their own horses, so Cindy doesn't have much choice for a really good jockey, either they can't handle Gratis or the already have rides. Gratis is the most stubborn and untrained horse I have ever heard about. He is pig-headed and tries to throw his rider off at any chance he gets. I can understand Cindy's suffering of not being able to ride because of her shoulder injury. She really wants to race Gratis and she probably could if she could ride. I really enjoyed this book because it showed a side of Cindy I had never seen before. The only thing I would change about it is that it probably needed a bit more action in it, although it did have some. I can't wait to find out who wins the Derby! You should definitly buy this book!

Cindy's last hope

this was a really good book! it was suspensful (i was wondering who would ride gratis and what would happen to wonder's champion) it was great to hear about what was happening with cindy! i like the character she has become ( when she was young she was very bratty but she isnt now) and it was great to hera about some of the horses in the past too. but what dissapointed me was the fact that the derby wasnt in this book!!! i wanna know who is going to win!! gratis, image or star??? maybe the next book....i reccommend this book to thoroughbred lovers ne where!

A GREAT BOOK

It was a great book. I recommend this to any thoroughbred lover, unless you don't like Cindy. The book is mainly about her (and horses). I don't understand why some of you people don't like her. BRAD on the other hand is the most obnoxious person that hit the series. I mean in this book he tries takong Champion (cindy's horse). I won't tell you if he suceeds or not you can find that out for yourself. The other problem in the book is that Cindy and Ben can't find a jockey for Gratis in the Derby. The only one you can keep control of him is an exercise rider called Wolf. But Cindy doesn't like him. Cindy fires him and takes out Gratis on the trails. But hurt her bad shoulder in the process. Who can help her? Will she ever find a jockey for Gratis? Will Cindy lose Champion? Read the Book and find out!
