Compelling romance and family drama

Perennially single architect Francesca Moretti is often the subject of fix-ups by her well meaning friends. But far too many painful break ups make her resistant to relationships, and between her own job, and helping out the family construction firm, she finds little time for socializing. Her father is interested in obtaining the bid to renovate a Boise landmark, hoping that it will be his legacy, while her mom just wishes he'd retire already. Not able to obtain financing, he turns to rival construction magnate Kyle Jagger for a silent partnership. When she suddenly finds herself attracted to Kyle, she has no idea that her father has struck secret deal that after a tragedy will alter her family's company and future. Holm can always be counted on to tell an engaging story, featuring characters that are both appealing and true to life. Kyle and Franci have incredible chemistry and are interesting characters in their own right. Their reluctance to get together is overshadowed by their attraction to each other. The romance between the Moretti parents is also sweet and amorous. Holm has another great story under her belt - totally recommended.

What a great book!

All the Right Angles is a love story of more than just one couple. It tells the story of three good marriages and how those marriages have evolved through time and through loss. The main story is the Francesca and Kyle love story. Francesca and Kyle first meet each other while in line at the permit office. It is not love at first sight but the author allows the reader to enjoy the relationship growth. delightful family drama with a touch of Romeo and Juliet

Being part of a close Italian family, architect Francesca "Franci" Moretti thinks nothing of rolling up her sleeves to work with her parents and brothers on construction projects. Her dad enlists his offspring to help with a major construction project. Thus Franci meets rival Kyle Jagger, owner of Legacy Constructors; both are attracted to one another, but have doubts about seeing each other as they are business opponents. Although competitors, there are deep ties between the Morettis and the Jaggers. Unable to resist their desires, Kyle and Franci begin to see one another, while feeling guilty of betraying their respective families. As they fall in love, Kyle and Franci believe they must choose between their loving family devotion and their soul mate. ALL THE RIGHT ANGLES is a delightful family drama in which the romantic subplot leads to relationship havoc. The lead protagonists are an interesting pairing as their families are business rivals, which make them competitors. The story line focuses on their relationships with one another, their families, and the construction business. Stef Ann Holm provides an enjoyable romance that has a touch of the Romeo and Juliet spin without the deadliness. Harriet Klausner

Putting their hearts on the line--4 1/2 stars!

Architect Francesca Moretti, a beautiful 34 year old career-driven single, comes from a large and loving Italian family. Her parents are Italian immigrants, and have founded one of Boise, Idaho's most successful construction companies. Franci has three older brothers successful in their own right (John, a widowed lawyer; Robert, a restaurant owner; and Mark, construction worker in the family business), but it is Franci who is most like her father in "getting" how to run a growing construction business. Franci is a "girly" girl, with her love for fashion (especially shoes), but she's also not afraid of getting "dirty" either in the male dominated world of construction. She's the apple of her father's eye, and the most qualified to carry on the family business. When her father takes on the high profile Grove Marketplace renovation project, a project he desperately wants as a sort of legacy, it's almost more than his company can handle alone. He needs a financial backer, and the banks are unwilling to help. That's when he makes a secret deal that ends up turning his whole familiy's lives, and especially Franci's, upside down. Kyle Jagger is a handsome, ambitious 42 year old divorced workaholic and owner of one of Moretti Constructions' chief rivals, Legacy Constructors. When an unexpected tragedy befalls the Moretti family, Kyle's role in the secret deal comes to light, leaving the Moretti family stunned. Kyle and Franci are instantly attracted to one another, although neither will admit it, even to themselves. Although they have many differences in the way they were raised (Kyle being an only child and not very close to his widowed mother or used to needing anyone; Franci raised in a loving, supportive family, with family and a close group of girlfriends to rely on) they have similar likes and professional backgrounds. Both have also been burned in love before, and are extremely reluctant to take a chance and put their hearts on the line. But as they are forced to spend more and more time together on the same project, their feelings are hard to deny. The question is, just how badly do they want each other, and can they get over their fears and go for something that could be truly wonderful? If you've read any of Stef Ann Holm's books before then you know what you'll be getting: mature characters that you can respect and care about, slow building believable romance where the sex is often implied and never explicit, and very descriptive details about families and their lives. Both Franci and Kyle are very likable characters, and I was hoping things would work for them. There was a minor and sometimes funny subplot where Franci's girlfriends tried to do some matchmaking for her and it almost wrecked Kyle and Franci's budding romance. I enjoyed this book thoroughly, although at times I wished that Kyle would be a little more "alpha" with his feelings toward Franci; at times I wanted to shake him and say "go for it already...don't
