This is a well written, quite comprehensive book about Zubin's life up to 1977-78. I'm sure any Zubin Mehta fan will enjoy it - and others may become a fan after reading it. This is an incredibly hard working genius of a man who took advantage of every opportunity presented him and kept faith with his own convictions. (And yes, he played hard when the occasion arose, too) His dedication to his craft, his learning curve, his ambition and sheer guts consistently amazed me. Also, the way his life followed the horoscope cast for him at 3 days of age is uncanny. I've always enjoyed watching him conduct - after reading this book, I'll enjoy it even more knowing what went into the making of Zubin Mehta.
