I served as a volunteer for these games (before I emigrated to the United States). Reading this book really brought back the memories for me. It's hard for anyone to put down in a book what a person experinces, but this book came close to it. It really takes a person back to these Games and puts the reader in amongst the audience, volunteers, and the athletes. This book really states (without having to define it) why the Commonwealth Games are known as The Friendly Games.
