Book Overview

A Children's Christmas classic for over 30 years Long, long ago, in a land far away, lived a perfect little tree named Small Pine. Small Pine hoped to maintain its perfect form and be selected by the Queen as her Christmas tree. But as the warm-hearted little tree gave shelter to birds, rabbits, and deer in the forest, its branches became damaged. Fortunately, the Queen had a different idea of perfection... Young readers will want to read and reread the story of how Small Pine's love and charity for its friends help make it the most "perfect" Christmas Tree of all. This magnificently illustrated story of a warm-hearted Christmas tree will surely become one of the most beloved classics of future generations. Schneider's storytelling will enthrall children and adults alike.

My son's pick

My 7-year old son rarely talks about what happens in school and he came home telling me the whole story of "Why Christmas Tree's Aren't Perfect" because he enjoyed hearing the story from his teacher. He even wrote down the name so I could find it for our home.

One of the best books I've ever read!

I am 6 years old and my mom read this book to me tonight. This book is not scary. It's good because it teaches you about the love of Jesus Christ.

A Holiday Must for All Children

This poignant tale of a generous little tree who gives wholly of himself to those around him reminds us all of the true message of Christmas and the sacrifice that each parent makes for his child. It's a moving legend for all ages and a wonderful gift for loved ones.

A New Christmas Tradition in Our House!

We ALL love this book! The illustrations are beautiful, and the message compelling! It's about a tree that sacrifices its beautiful shape and potential reward to help animals, but the parallel for us is obvious. As the last page says,"living for the sake of others makes us most beautiful in the eyes of God." I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Gently shows how caring and kindness count

I heard this book mentioned by a motivational speaker several years ago and purchased it from the small publisher. This book is a perfect choice to read during the holiday season to highlight the idea of doing service for others and expressing kindness and caring.
