This book is an anthology of essays written by both Muslim Scholars and Grassroots Activists. During the Spring of 2015 I read the book "Who Speaks For Islam" by John L. Esposito & Dalia Mogahed. Esposito and Mogahed's book was based on a Gallop World Poll which makes an attempt to give the opinions of the Muslim World's silent majority. This book, Who Speaks for the Muslims in America, attempts to give some of the recent history of the Muslims that is not normally conveyed in the highly publicized books written by Muslims or at Islamic conferences.
