Ella hesitated for a moment, caught off guard by the invitation. She wasn't sure if it was wise to continue spending time with him, especially after how quickly she had let her guard down. But something about Jake made her curious, and more than that, it made her feel... safe.

"Sure," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'd like that."
