It's nearly impossible to not love a Rosalind Laker book. My personal favorites are Circle of Pearls and To Dance With Kings, but this one rates well up there. It's a very touching story of innocence lost, love, despair, and inner strength. Lisa, an orphan is transported from England with a number of other orphans destined to fill domestic posts in Canada. Lisa meets Peter, a Swedish immigrant and falls in love but is torn from him due to unforseen circumstances. She loses all hope of ever seeing him again and marries, only to be found by Peter and lose him again. Her husband convinces her to move back to England in an effort to get her as far away from her lost love as possible. There they open a successful cinema...and any more details will ruin the story for you.I highly recommend this book!
