I actually scored this for free as a gift from a friend who knew of my love of the BBC Top Gear TV show and their attendant specials and, given that many people who know me decry my taste in cars (and music) they saw this and thought of me. Which was very nice. Anyway what you get here is a light hearted expose of rubbish cars and just as importantly the sort of people these rubbish cars appeal to. Now of course you'd be an idiot if you picked this up and thought you'd agree with every assessment Hammond makes about what cars have that special, indefinable, lame factor. But it's a breezy read and will probably give you more than just a couple of chuckles especially if you ever owned one of these vehicles or know someone who did. Far from essential but a good idea as a gift to that Top Gear fan in your inner circle.

Entertaining

An entertaining read, but it probably helps that I am quite familiar with Richard Hammond and his personality and some background through reading other books. Most Americans won't recognize or understand half of the cars but it was a fun quick read in an interesting format.

Great gift

I have a young son that is getting ready to purchase a car. He was thrilled to have this book. He has even shared this book with friends and is now reading all of Richard Hammonds books.

What Not To Drive

Its an interesting book and a worthwhile read. Hammond goes on in his typical style. All that is missing from this book are teeth whitening jokes.
