A guide to celebrating your strengths

We Hug in the Hallways Here is an absolute must for anyone who has ever felt they were a square peg trying to fit into a round hole at work. This book does an excellent job explaining why it is so important to match the type of work we do and the environment in which we do it to our particular behavioral style, and not only to our interests, skills or values, if we hope to be truly productive and satisfied in our work. Even if you are already familiar with the four DISC behavioral styles (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness) as I was, you'll uncover new insights into how to use this knowledge to specifically target the jobs and work cultures that best suit you. Especially useful was the section on suitable career choices, job, and environments for each behavioral tendency. After my position was recently eliminated, I gave a great deal of thought to what the next chapter of my working life should look like. This book helped me understand that my previous work situation often had required me to tap into strengths that did not come naturally to someone with my behavioral style while at the same time, underutilizing my natural and much-needed tendencies. Armed with the knowledge and real life examples provided in this book, I'm confident my next job and work environment will more fully utilize the way I am specifically wired.

Get on the road to success.

We Hug in the Hallways Here is and excellent book that does the best job of explaining the Disc Profiling System that I have seen. Roger Wenschlag has trained thousands of people on how to understand and use the Disc process in their jobs and everyday life. No one is better qualified to explain how to implement the Disc system and bring it to life in your job and everyday life. I have read over 10 business books in the last 6 months -- this is one of the best that I have read.

A valuable guide and resource for anyone in or about to enter today's complex and challenging career

We Hug in the Hallways Here is a guide to finding the right company culture to suit one's needs - or learning how to adjust to the organizational culture one is currently in. We Hug in the Hallways Here breaks down work-related styles and personalities into four basic types: the "high D" which emphasizes rising to meet new challenges, the "high I" which does best when cooperating with people who are enthusiastic and interactive, the "high S" who prioritize calm and effective cooperation, and the "high C" who puts extra importance on weighing pros and cons to make the right decision before acting. Above all, We Hug in the Hallways Here recommends learning to be adaptable, since no work environment is likely to purely require only one of the four types. A valuable guide and resource for anyone in or about to enter today's complex and challenging career world.

There IS help for career changers!

I recently read "We Hug in the Hallways Here" by Roger Wenschlag. As a retired Community College Counselor and Career Center Director, I have an eye for useful career decision making assessments and books. Using behavioral styles as a critical element in career choice, Mr. Wenschlag has developed a user friendly career decision making guide when many of us are facing new life changing decisions. While useful for anyone wanting to increase their understanding of the complexities of career choice, I would recommend this book to college students and career changers in these uncertain times. We all prosper when work is more than another job. Ken LaMont, College of the Desert Emeritus

The Perfect Resource for the Right Job Fit

This is the best resource I have read for helping people find that perfect career fit. The book is easy to read and practical to use, while being packed with helpful tools for immediate and long-term career success. I wish I would have had this resource 30 years ago. After reading my copy, I realized how helpful it would be for my kids; so, I bought one for each of them.
