Good, fast paced book. Hayden is a stubborn, American man who refuses to bend to his late father's arrangement of marriage to a snooty, English Lady. So while he is in England, he comes up with the idea to abduct a little French maid and force her to be his bride, little does he know that he is really abducting his betrothed. Carissa is a headstrong miss with hoydenish ways and a temper that gets her into trouble that her quick wit, and bravery must get her out of. She looses one little horse race, and look where it got her. She has to pose as a French maid, she gets abducted, is forced to marry the very same person who abducted her, only to realize that it is her bethrothed. And if all that was not bad enough, halfway across the Atlanic Ocean she discovers that she loves him. Together they are a strong, volatile couple who have to overcome difficult odds both with each other and outside forces. The ending could have been better, but it fit alright with the two main characters both being headstrong, and stubborn.
