Good

This is a great little book. A collection of essays on different aspects of Unitarianism, it is a perfect introduction to UU ideas, and all of the essays are extremely well written. Much higher quality than I expected, this is one I shall be turning to again.

great for the layperson

This book is a great read as an intro to Unitarian Universalism. I highly suggest it

Handy little introduction with surprising depth

I recently became interested in learning more about Unitarian Universalism, and although there's a wealth of information available online, I found this book to be worthwhile anyway. It consists of 7 essays by various UU figures, and addresses all the major points: what UUs believe, how congregations and the UU Association work, what programs and tools UU offers for people who join a congregation, etc. There's also a good historical overview of where Unitarianism and Universalism come from, and how they ended up merging into the UUA. If you want a simple, pleasant introduction to Universal Unitarianism, I think this is a great place to start. I imagine UUs would also find this handy for finding ways to communicate more clearly to others what their beliefs are.

Excellent Introduction

This book is the best short introduction available about Unitarian Universalism. It is easy to read, entertaining, yet contains all the important information to have a good introduction to the Unitarians. This is a good book to share with someone who wants to learn more.

a book to keep close by at all times

This book is a must for anyone who is remotely intersted in information on the unitarian universalist church. It is very welcoming to anyone who reads it, especially those of us who have left organized religion in the past and felt there would never be any turning back. The book compares and contrasts the UU church to other western religions as well as eastern in a non biased way. It really gives the reader something concrete and tangible regarding the beliefs of the church. It is written on my level in the sense that there is no condescention or judgement. I knew I would like it from the first page. What a pleasure to find a book that helps answer my questions on liberal faith! It is the kind of book I will always keep at my beside for rereading and reviewing.
