What a Thrill!

I absolutely loved this book. It’s not often a book makes me feel uneasy, but this book definitely did. It’s such a good read

Loved this book!

Absolutely loved this book. I was never quite sure where it was going, and it moved quickly while still going into great detail and imagery.

Great!

I read this book in December of 2019 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a nice undercurrent of supernatural elements; just enough to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. I will do my best to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn't read it yet and may be sensitive to that kind of thing. It was written in such a way that many different elements have been woven together, yet it is not obvious at first what the connections are. At first, Featherbank appears to be a charming, idyllic town perfect for a husband and son looking for a fresh start after the death of their wife and mother. In Featherbank, there is a strange rhyme children tell each other about a string of murders from twenty years ago. The son begins acting strange as the father and son become drawn in to a police investigation of a disappearance that is unsettlingly similar to the former murders, though the perpetrator has long been in prison. The conclusion is as shocking as it is satisfying.

Fantastically Creepy Thriller!

This was a fantastically creepy thriller that grabbed me from the first sentence with the disappearance of Neil and carried me through the very end with nary a dull moment! The Whisper Man mostly follows Jake and Tom Kennedy as they move into their new house, a house with a history they did not know about. Twenty years ago, an evil man that was given the name The Whisper Man, due to his way of whispering through the window to a child before taking him was captured, but not before leaving a dark legacy that someone else has followed. There is just a touch of the supernatural in this book but it is only the icing on this creepy cake that shows that the evils of man can be enough to give you the chills. This was a great story and I must admit that after reading it, I made sure that my door was locked tight! I think the creepiest part is the rhyme that the kids all have heard in the story: If you leave a door half open, Soon you'll hear the whispers spoken. If you play outside alone, Soon you won't be going home. If you're lonely, sad, and blue, The Whisper Man will come for you!
