misunderstanding after misunderstanding . . .

Yes this books had misunderstandings galore but overall it really was a sweet story. I really liked Marcus and Polly together. Think there should also be a story for Phil. Don't think he should stick it through with that witchy Suzi though!!

Harlequin Romance at its best

Harlequin Romances are what they are - unabashedly unrealistic, filled with thwarted true love and inherently decent men and women who want nothing more than to share their lives with one another. It ain't high literature, but it gives us mortal folk a break from our regular lives. Penny Jordan has written over 100 books for Harlequin/Mills and Boon and "The Ultimate Surrender" continues her excellent romantic storytelling legacy. As another reviewer said, it was great to have a heroine who was over 35, with an 18 year old daughter at that. Our brooding hero, Marcus, was everything he should be (and more) and the sex scenes were sensual and enjoyable. I'm highly critical of romance authors who act like heroines in romance novels are all firghtened and unresponsive sexually to the hero. Like they just stand around waiting to be seduced and are horrified by their behaviour afterwards. It really bugs me and speaks volumes on the way women's sexuality is portrayed in the romantic genre. There is a little of that in The Ultimate Surrender (hence the 4 stars and not 5) but it's certainly not the worst offender I've ever seen. A light hearted enjoyable read!

Another great book by Penny Jordan! Her sweet, poignant love stories just melts your heart.

Penny Jordan never disappoints. She is one author whose book you can buy without hesitation. The characters were beleivable and loved the fact that she recognized that just because you're over 35 means that u are sexually dead. It's a great book for the summer.
