This is one of the few books that I never get tired of reading. Your first time through will be a stunning revelation, an amazing insight into the heroine's character; as soon as you read the last page you'll inevitably turn back to the beginning to find anything and everything you may have missed. The characters seem like enemies and friends and family. The plot twists in unpredictable, surprising, elaborate ways. The dialogue is intelligent. And, most importantly, all of these elements blend together so well that you'll wonder why in the world everyone hasn't read Hale Mednick's The Twelve Tribes.

Excellent debut by Hale. I felt really involved with Esther's journey. The author creates a world that is so real that I felt as if I was there. After reading about each tribe, I always looked forward to the next one. Esther's experiences and transformation are vividly displayed by the author. I can't wait for his next book.
