This book is a first-person (not just any first-person) account of the discovery of the Tomb of Tutankhamun by Howard Carter. I feel like I am watching one of the old mummy movies.
I am afraid this volume is a tad skimpy on pictures, but you can stop and peruse the net as you go. There is an exemplary diagram of the tomb and the burial chamber.
It is an easy read and intriguing, as they tell not only of the discoveries blow by blow but also takes some time to know of the work of their rivals.
