'Forbes has called John Templeton "one of the handful of true investment greats in a field of crowded mediocrity and bloated reputations." Wall Street has regarded him as one of the world's wisest investors. John Templeton is the founder of the Templeton mutual fund group, which now manages more than $6 billion owned by more than half a million public investors. He started his investment career on a borrowed ten grand & thus is a living embarrassment to the efficient market theory - which holds that you cannot start from nothing & end up with a large fortune in a single lifetime." John Templeton believes that his financial accomplishments are directly related to his strong convictions & now shares the secrets of his phenomenal success in the twenty-one principles that provide readers with solid guidelines for prosperity and happiness. He maintains that the common denominator connecting successful people with successful enterprises is a devotion to ethical & spiritual principles. He emphasizes the "laws of life" - truthfulness, perseverance, thrift, enthusiasm, humility & altruism - that can help everyone discover & develop their individual abilities. The practical steps he presents can improve anyone's personal & professional life.' In a nut shell, that's how I got attracted to this book in the first place. I have always been fascinated by success principles. There are many many new success books out there but very few of them actually meet my personal expectations. This is one of them & it's really good! I am most impressed by the author's impeccable credentials & track record. More importantly, I have also enjoyed reading it very much. My end analysis, for readers, after reading it: Please observe the twenty one principles from this wonderful book as a further extention of the original seventeen success principles, as embodied in Napoleon Hill's 'Law of Success'!
A Guidebook for Life

The Templeton Plan is a guidebook for living life. Templeton lays down 21 laws on how to be successful in your personal life and in your occupation. Interwoven with the Templeton Plan is an autobiographical story of how Templeton started from modest means growing up in Tennesse into a multi-billion dollar investor and money manager. It's an incredible and inpiring story. Not every day or in just any book can you get great, proven advice from a billionaire, but this text is a classic treatise on being successful from someone who not only knows as much about the subject as anyone but also has taken the time to formulate it into a teachable package. It is wisdom in the truest form. This book is cheap and more than worth every cent. It's also one that I will read again in the future which is the highest mark that I can give any book.
Excellent text for career exploration class

I first read this book about 5 years ago, drawn to it because of the appreciation of the investment prowess of the Author. I have long been a shareholder of the Templeton Funds. When I agreed to teach a class of 8th graders a "Career Exploration" class I knew this would be a 1st rate text. The class read the book over a period of weeks as we reviewed the book each class period. Each of them was then required to write a review. Each student gleaned different messages from the book. All spoke highly of it. It is my belief that it will continue to speak to them as they shape their careers and their lives. Personally, I can think of no better gift for a young adult, or for a foreward thinking adolescent, than this book
