This is the story of Debra Tamarind, a beautiful and spirited twenty year old college student, who tragically loses both her parents in a matter of weeks forcing her to fend for herself. Angry at God and at her parents, Debra rebels against the value system of her upbringing, against societal norms and expectations; and against her deeply seated, though unconscious, Christian roots. Debra's story is one of coming of age; of learning to know who she is and recognize and acknowledge the humanness of her parents while reconciling herself to the gifts they imparted to her. She is open to her core as she comes to grips with her selfish nature and her innate belief in the God that she has rejected. With time, she learns what it means to truly love unselfishly and wholeheartedly. Her newly discovered personal awareness allows Debra to finally see herself for who she is, for who she might be in time to come thus opening the door for her to freely give her passion to the one man she truly loves.
