Don't be put off by the book being 20 years old. The issues described by the author are still germane to many urban regions. Johnson explains how development is typically done in an American city. You can use this as a top level guideline about how to proceed, if you are in urban planning. The financial aspects are also crucial. Here, various sources of funding are mooted. Most important could be local or regional banks, whose remit or focus might be for urban projects.
