Jeffrey Dahmer's mother was disturbed during her entire pregnancy and consequently she was given massive amounts of drugs such as barbiturates and phenobarbital. Jeffrey was a happy kid, born with a fundamental problem with his foot, which has been successfully operated, and later on due to a hernia he has developed, he showed castration anxiety. The marriage of his parents was heated with violent arguments. By the time he finished high school, Jeffrey has developed an alcoholic problem. Later on, he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, psychotic disorder and autism although these have not been the main reason to commit crimes. Most of his life he was plagued by feelings of loneliness and isolation which made him long for a permanent companion.
