Very human story about love

Adam and Natlie meet at a College party in 1978 and fall in love. They are so in love that they are thinking about getting married. However before they can tie the knot Adam finds out some very bad news. His father had gone bankrupt and he (the father) had been given money by his friend with the rational that the two friends would be one when their children (Adam and the friends daughter Julia) married. After this Adam tells Natalie goodbye so that he can marrie Julia. 12 Years go by and both Natalie and Adam live in NYC. They both go for a walk and bump into eachother. This leads to a reunial of the affiar. Several months go by and Adam wants to leave Julia who he is still married to. After a party at her parent's house Adam tells Julia he is leaving her and she flips out and trips, falling down the stairs. Adam feels really bad and stays with her after this, but still continues his affair with Natalie. Five years go by after Julia's accident and things continue pretty much the same as they had been. Then during a doctor's exam Natalie finds out she is pregnant and leaves NYC and goes to live with her sister in Ohio. Several months go by and Adam continues to miss her. About this time he is scheduled to go to France for business, but it turnes out that he doesnt because because of mechanical dificulty. When he gets home what he finds serprises him. His wife, who he thought could'nt walk can. He leaves her and finds Natalie, whom he did not know was pregnant and they end up getting together and raising their daughter and running a law firm. Overall this is a very enjoyable book

Wonderful reading!

This is the first book I've read by this author and I loved every minute of it! I couldn't put the book down. Patricia Kay is a wonderful storyteller, I didn't want the book to end. She makes the story come alive and you can really feel the emotions of what Natalie and Adam are going through. I was very impressed by this Author and can't wait to read another of her books!I only wish it was longer! A really special love story.

Typical Affair

This was a novel of twists and secrets between a married man and the only love of his life. When Adam realizes he can't marry Natalie and must marry Julia thanks to his father's doings, he is devestated. This romance gets a little slow in some chapters but then it pumps up. It is a typical story of two people having an affair that must be kept classified, but, in the end, it will bang you with a surprise. It's worth the read.

FABULOUS BOOK !!

I couldn't put THE OTHER WOMAN down! I am a long time fan of Patricia Kay (who also writes for Silhouette Special Edition as Trisha Alexander), and she can always be counted on for a captivating and emotional read. Her stories always come alive for me, but I hate the long wait between her books. Can't she write any faster??!! I also loved THE WRONG CHILD...all I can say is WOW to that one, too. I believe that one was up for an award. Patricia Kay is a marvelous writer. Trust me.

passionate tale

In late 1978 going into 1979, Adam Forrester is the oldest child and an only son with a wealthy Westchester County pedigree. Unlike his rebellious younger sister, he will listen to his parents and do what is expected by marrying the boring daughter of father's business partner. However, while attending Yale he meets and falls in love with Natalie Ferrenzo, a student at another school. Adam decides to defy his parents by marrying Natalie instead of Julia, but he soon learns that if he fails to wed the latter his family faces financial doom. Natalie breaks with Adam who marries Julia. Over a decade later in New York City, an unhappy Adam accidentally meets Natalie. He decides this time to go for love and plans to divorce Julia. However, his wife refuses to go quietly into the night and Natalie has kept a secret from him all these years making a second chance at love seem doomed again. THE OTHER WOMAN is a well-written contemporary romance whose main plot centers on a notion that seems out of place in the modern era. Taking that initial leap past the ancient theme, readers will enjoy the lead characters as they struggle with love the first time around and even more so the second time. The story line is cleverly written so sub-genre fans will enjoy Patricia Kay's passionate tale in spite of the anachronistic key concept.Harriet Klausner
